RM6800 sub: which input to use?

Should I use the speaker wire or line level (RCA) inputs to hook up my RM6800 sub?

The manual gives no guidance on this other than to not even show it as a possibility. Wouldn't the default be to use the power provided by a powered sub, i.e. use the line level (RCA) input?

Also, why are there stereo line level inputs on the sub? The sub 'pre' out from my amp is (of course?) mono.

Sorry if this is too basic a question, but since it was sub question I posted it here rather than in the basic forum.

I have the same speaker package as you except my sub is a PSW10. I set my front speakers to "Large" and then copied the wiring hook up that you have shown on page 6/figure 6 of your manual. Polk suggests this hookup to be the best way to hook up the fronts/subs. Mine works fine and I'm quite happy with it.
