New house progress

1) view from living room
2) house from driveway
3) a few days later....some of the windows are boarded temporarily
4) today...pouring garage floor

    Beautiful location! just out of curiosity..why don't they build houses with concrete block there?

    I don't know....maybe because there are so many trees? :confused: Probably some cost issues too. And maybe because of the dampness? Just guessing.

    Actually we just decided to use the living room as the HT. We had a dedicated room for a while in the previous house but my wife just prefers to watch in the LR. It will have a dedicated 2-channel room though :D

    Thanks everyone! The lower level is an apartment for my Mom and Dad and there's also a spare bedroom down there. The garage has a 17' ceiling so there will also be a large unfinished room over the back part of it accessable from the spare bedroom. My music room will have an 8' ceiling so there will be a storage loft above it. The rest of the ceilings are vaulted with visible beams. It will be around 2850 sq ft not including the unfinished area or my wife's sunroom which will be about an 8x20 finished area on the east side of the house adjacent to the LR. The kitchen and nook area are in the front west of the house so they have the same view as the LR. The MBR is in the rear west side and we'll have a similar view through a 12' sliding glass door which will take up most of the west wall. We certainly couldn't have done this in S. Cal.

    Yeah! Don't know how the neighbors would appreciate that though :D Due to the location of our lot we're the only ones with a private drive like that. It's about 50-60 yds long.
