This unit is a 1 input 1 output passive pre amp featuring caddock resistor. The unit is in good shape, but exhibits some imperfections on the case. The top has some light thin scuffs that look just a shade lighter then black, hard to see unless in direct light. The bottom has a few scratches and couple chinks in the paint smaller then a eraser head each. The left side has a tiny **** that shows the metal through. Purchased September 2006 and used until March 2006.

This is a good quality PCI Express 16x video card. When I did my research this was the best card to buy below $150. Worked well for me but I have been getting into more recent games like FEAR and Company of Heroes, and I like to play at 1900x1440 with all the detail settings maxed out. I replaced this card with a BFG overclocked 8800GTS 640mb...a $400 card.

Great condition, purchased September 2006 and was in use until February 2007 when I went to an outboard DAC. This is a stereo output sound card for those who don't want to mess with surround sound or outboard DACs. Worked great but I decided to upgrade (as I always do) so now someone else can enjoy it.

The M-Audio is known for its excellent 2ch playback, I do not know how it fares with the digital output. That being said the X-Fi looks to be more focused on its digital out, and looks to be able to support up to a 7.1 setup. The M-Audio is only capable of doing 2ch, even through the digital connections.
That being said I would assume the M-Audio would perform better for 2ch then the X-fi, but have no experience with the X-Fi. The M-Audio was the card that kept begin recommended at every forum I looked at, which is why I went with it.
