Pre-order price looks good!:) :)

Hell, if it lives up to the claim of over 75% more output than it's predecessor, than this is a bargain!

    Polksters,

I know the rep and the preformance of these subs as I have owned one, but the prices keep going up and up, the value for the buck seems to be going down a bit, just my .02

it looks kick ****, but Im already planning on a matching PB12 plus/2. I think the output of two of those beasts will surely blow me away.

    Looks impressive.

But I gotta agree, they are getting into that territory of losing a lil bang for the buck.

Would make an excellent home theater power house, Im sure.

So - how does this sound for music?

When I went to CES they demoed some new sub (I think the new Ultra) and I heard like 2 notes from the unit.

75% more output for only $200 more than the original? How in the world is that becoming less of a performance bargan?

They brought the driver to CES, but not an Ultra13 proto. You probably got a demo of the older Ultra/2. From what I understand Ron S likes to demo at reference level, so it might have been a bit on the boomy side in a hospitality suite. I wasn't there. I've never had a problem getting mine to be tuneful.

Pricing is what it is...everybody has got to have margin...I imagine it's the same percentage.

I think that the SVS are ookkkk for music but their strengh is HT. I would not have one for a dedicated music set up only.

I have taken time locate and integrate two PC-Ultra's into my audio system with excellent results. 95% of the time I listen to two channel music. I would not swap these with any subs I have heard. The only reason I would upgrade is if the new units have a more refined sonic signature, but I don't think I could justify the cost.

I definitely hear more than two notes; maybe three, possibly four.;)
