I heard some good things about these new rechargeables over at dpreview. They are new NiMH batts that have an amazing shelf life compared to regular NiMH batts. The link is for the Sanyos, the batts I bought. Walmart also carries the Rayovac version called "Hybrid" batts.
These batteries can be used right out of the packaging, no charging required. You can use these for remotes, etc. They are also compatible with all chargers.
I am running these batts in my Canon A630 and they are amazing.

Is there any runtime advantage, or is the sole improvement in shelf life?Ludicrous gibs!

So far, I've heard although the new batts are rated lower (2000mah) they actually run slightly longer than higher rated (2500mah) standard NiMh...something about the new batts have a better ability to deliver power than standard batts.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235
