I am going to get this, although I wish there's a SACD version of it.

Hey, whomever gets it, could you give us a review asap? I'd sure appreciate it.

My wife and I will be seeing her and Union Station in July. Really looking forward to it! Absolutely love their music AND most of what I have of theirs is unusually well recorded. What a plus!

I'll be picking that up in the morning for my 5 hour drive to Little Rock, AR. It will just be on my stock system till I can get home and hear it.

Are they releasing new stuff on SACD still? Anyone know if this might make it? I'd like to have that one that's always listed on Amazon for $55 but that's just not worth it for me! lol

You mean the live album? I need to search out that one but I am NOT going to be paying no $50.00 for that one.

As for SACDs....yeah, they are still being released.

Actually $50.00 is a good price now for that album in sacd its an oop. Some ive seen want $99.95 for it.

Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

Got it today and listened in the car; no doubt Alison has a wonderful voice, and there were a couple of songs that I liked, but as Randy Jackson would say, "I wasn't jumping up and down"...

Will listen again later tonight at home and see if I change my mind.

Decent cd. It seems to be fairly well recorded and definately sounds good on the LSi's. Not really something I'd usually listen to (bit too country style for me), but it has a couple catchy tracks. I can see Jacob's Dream (track 3) being a good demo song.

For me her voice is like nails on a blackboard. I wish it wasn't as I love that type of music.

Ha ..I don't think so. It's the same everywhere for me. Everytime I hear her. Maybe it's the whole female hearing thing.

Well, it definitely sounds better at home than it does on the Explorer's stock system. I have always liked her voice and, yeah, it can be a little harsh, but that's her voice. Ok, and the 10B's are a little bright at 13kHz, too!

I do like the duets she does with Brad Paisley and John Waite. I always liked that song "Missing You" so to hear him sing it again in this era was kind of cool. All in all...I like it and I like the majority of it. I think I only skipped over a couple of songs. But I could still listen to it all.

Also, while I was out, I found the "tiny" SACD section at the Norman, OK Best Buy and picked up the Ray Charles "genius loves company" SACD for $15. Always liked me some Ray! Then, went across the street to HAstings to another miniscule collection of SACD, DTS and DVD-Audio discs and picked up Sheryl Crow's "The Globe Sessions". You just can't find SACD in mainstream stores too easy anymore.

Thanks for the info about the album. Yeah, I guess Alison can get a little sharp, but for the most part, I think if angels can sing, they might sound like her.

I have never heard her get sharp with her voice, she looks pretty sharp, sings with pure perfect pitch as far as I can tell. So I guess if someone prefered flat sounding singers she is sharp. Maybe its the recording. One of my favorites is "Ghost in this House" followed by "New Favorite" and "Down to the River", not sure how I would like her in duets, not like she needs any help.
