Should I change my friends mind?

I have a friend who is looking at the Onkyo HTS 790 for $400. I've heard that this system is the way to go...if you want HTIB. I can't help but think the the Polk RM6750 for $200 @ Fry's along with a $200-300 AVR would be the better deal. So, is it worth my time to even mention this idea to him or should I just let him get the Onkyo system. I'm pretty sure his budget will not exceed $500.

A few weeks ago, the Infinity TSS1100 can be had for under $500 shipped from Amazon. I'm very happy with the sound.

Mention it & suggest he go demo them if possible. Even volunteer to go with him.

    Can't hurt.
