looking on the used market for an amp to drive older RT speakers (RT16, CS350, LS f/x)... ~80% music, 20% HT. looking to spend ~$200. have seen adcom 2535, HK pa5800, b&k vmr 654, carver av 634 all at around $200. will I improve on the HK av-340 capabilities at that price point, or should I keep saving?
Thanks,
-Doug

I would save a little more......Go for something like a Carver M200t, TFM-25, something along those lines. If you are still looking when I get the rest of my tax refund, I will sell you my Caver M400t for $200....Dependant upon me finding another amp of course.:D

I had your exact same system with an HK pa5800. The HK will probably meet your needs as long as you are not blasting them full hog. I have the Adcom 535, (2 channel version of 2535) and it worked fine for the LS f/x. But if you are 80% music, you will want to put most of your amp $ on the RT16's. Perhaps get the HK for the 350 and LS/FX and get a more powerful amp for the RT16's.
