Xbox 360: Three red lights flash on the Ring of Light - anyone?

I was watching Happy Feet HD, barely 3 minutes into it when the three red lights flashes. Called MS and prompted to remove HD-DVD USB, reset power, and try again. Well, the console works now fo the past 30 minutes and counting. I wonder, did HD-DVD drive causes overheating? I've had my unit since December 2005, Production date 10-13-2005, no extended warranty. Am I close to the impending death? Anyone else experience this?
Thanks..
Thanks..
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

If I recall correctly, this is also referred to as "The 3 Red Lights of Death".
Probably not good news. But I would seek a 2nd opinion. Is it in a well-ventilated area? I've heard that the intercoolers can be helpful as well. -

still going ok on the game, I haven't tried back watching Happy Feet. Thanks for the feedback, folks...I think I might need to invest on a real HD-DVD player now. Where are we on the combo BD/HD-DVD? Still only LG model available?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

The 3 lights doesn't necessarily mean anything. I've had about 4 times where it crashes and the lights come on. I just turn it back on and go about my gaming.

It's rather disturbing, I am glad that it could be nothin', otherwise, I might get a chance to consider PS3, Shelby!I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I've got a friend who's selling his 60GB PS3 that he's hardly played. Let me know if you are interested... he'd probably want like $500.

Thanks, Dane. I'll keep that in mind. Unless this box is completely kaput, I am not really thought of PS3, too many game toys as is, and Blue Ray hasn't really interest me.
Sending the box to MS is what I am trying to avoid at all cost, beside, it is out of warranty already.I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.
