I decided to go VERY Low Fi to hold me over until I assemble the 'Mega Bucks Revenge of the Home Theater/ 2 Channel System'. ( someday in the distant future)

How low you ask.......?

Well... feast your eyes on this baby!

Does it suck? Hell Yeah!:D Is it horrible? Not at all. I am actually enjoying my ipod while I study and I'm having fun. It's better than nothing and it doesn't sound half bad actually (for an ipod system). Just don't do any critical listening. Now let me go research those Wilsons again......
Sharp Elite 70
Anthem D2V 3D
Parasound 5250
Parasound HCA 1000 A
Parasound HCA 1000

Von Schweikert LCR 4 Center
Totem Mask Surrounds X4
Hsu ULS-15 Quad Drive Subwoofers
Sony PS3
Squeezebox Touch

Polk Atrium 7s on the patio just to keep my foot in the door.

You didn't like the Polk Audio option? the miDock10?
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Do you have some additional comments on the Monitor Audio product?
This was on sale for $150.00 at Music Direct . Let's see..

The bass is actually pretty punchy and it has a pretty nice soundstage. It is bright and sounds compressed (hello ipod) but it fills the room pretty well with music and I am enjoying it

EDIT: Actually as I listen a bit more it throws out a really nice big soundstage and pretty good imaging for a little plastick thing.

I haven't actually listened to it -- but apple makes an ipod dock thingie -- all one piece that retails for $399. They had one at Tweeter marked down to $300. I picked it up and it was quite heavy. Has anyone heard one of these?

I read some reviews on that and they were pretty favorable but the Monitor Audio was better reviewd from what I read and most importantly for me right now..cheap. I think for $150.00 this thing is actually pretty decent.

Just for some perspective, the Polk Audio miDock is $149.99....the iPod Hi-Fi is $349.99.

You should ultimately buy what works best for your needs.

I looked at the Polk midock but I could not find any reviews. I also like that I can position the speakers on the Monitor Audio and I don't need it to be portable. I also admit I was drawn in to the sale price. The original retail was $350.00.

The Polk piece looks sharp though.
