Does anyone know how the Paradigm Studio 100 v. 4 compare to the Polk RTi 12? Any info would help, I still need a rec for this new theater.

I more or less agree with 'thumpin. The Paradigm are a little sharper on the top end and seem to lack the emotion of the Polk's.

As always though....the best bet is to listen to them yourself, and pick what you prefer.

Good suggustion. Aslong as you can go listen. I couldn't in both cases...But i enjoyed my first pair of polks and well i'm enjoy my new paradigm mini's. Yes i Do agree they are a bit crisp or sharp in the upper octaves lol. Not as harsh as let say klipsch but some like that kinda forward, more aggresive sound.

Polk all the way!! Don't get any other speaker but Polk and you'll never go wrong. Once you start straying from Polk that's when you'll run into problems. :D

Personally I never liked Paradigm, but that's me. As for straying away from Polk, well that depends on what league you want to play in. It goes both ways.

I was thinking B&W also, but again I may just end up upgrading to FXi5 for surrounds and adding another PB12 Plus /2. Go with the Denon 4806ci with either the earthquake coniove 7 or adcom 7807 and call it a day. My new theater room will be approx 20x30 with 15-20 foot ceilings. Will those rti12s, csi5, fxi5, rti4, and dual sub be enough for this room?

I have heard B&W's, and I couldn't listen to them after an hours time. Way too bright for my tastes.

I've heard people say that Paradigm are awesome but me and my wife heard a full Monitor (I think) and it was alright, but not enough for me to trade my Polk's off for. BY FAR!

I think the Rti would be more comparable to the Paradigm "monitor" series. IMO, the P-digm Ref Studio 100's are more comparable to the Lsi15, if anything. Not to sound snobby, but Rti's fall way short of a Paradigm Ref Studio; 2 different leagues, from the cabinets on up, again, in my opinion. It would be like comparing an Infinity to Chevy Cobalt.

If you like the way The RTi's sound now, why bother changing them?

Steve is absolutely right, the Studio series by P-dime are equivalent to the LSi's in all honesty. The P-dime monitor series is the equivalent to the RTi's.

I would suggest listening to all of the options if you can, then make a choice based on what you like to listen to. Polks are never a bad choice and will perform above their price point. That doesn't mean they are the best for you, or the scenario you are currently looking at. Listening to speakers is the answer. Hopefully the Polks will sound the best to you. Good luck on your search!
