If I might plug something to which I have no affilation other than being a satisfied customer:

You really owe it to yourself to buy some of the recordings put out by Chesky Records. They pay serious attention to quality - you can be sure that every Chesky release is of the very highest recording quality, in fact you'll be hard pressed to believe that CDs can sound that good.

Go ahead and pick one or two with which you're not really familiar, doesn't matter, your jaw will drop at the quality.

Their recordings are fantastic, but their customer service is THE PITS. After waiting 4 weeks for my CD's, I was sent several "substitutions." Now why would I want something other than what I ordered? When I called and inquired about this, I was told that this is what they do if something is backordered.....ok. I also got the goat-rope treatment when I called for a status on the shipment---"it shipped yesterday sir" then 3 weeks later I was told "it shipped Wednesday sir"...it was pityful.

I've had the opposite experience. Ordered from them 3 times, shipment, while admittedly a little slower than typical online orderings, wasn't that slow, and the order was complete and correct. I did, however, only order items that showed as in stock, IIRC.

Agreed with Steve. I had to literally chase an order, spoke with one of the manager, and finally they sent two shipment of the same order...:rolleyes:

I thought there was going to be something about "Records" here! Not even a hint of any vinyl releases from Chesky. I have heard some of their SACD releases and they are very fine recordings.

You guys knows that Chesky is planning to switch to single-inventory hybrid SACD later this year, right?

So, I ended up ordering "The Body Acoustic" from Chesky and have been very pleased with the quality of the recording. The CD took 17 days to arrive and included a free bonus. They also included a compilation Chesky jazz cd. Next up is "The Coryells" Chesky cd.
