1st I would like to know about some wires (interconnects/speaker/subwoofer)
I do not want to spend that much on this. I would like to get something that I can tell a difference from your run of the mill products from Wal-Mart. Right now I use cheap **** speaker wires (approx. $10.00 for 100 ft.) Cheap **** RCA cables (approx. $5.00 for 6ft. length), and I have a somewhat decent subwoofer cable (about $50.00 from BB) Like I said, I dont wanna spend a ton, but I do want to be able to tell a difference. Please tell me some brands and give me some links to some websites.

2nd I would like to upgrade my power cords on my amps and receiver. Please pass me over a few opinions and some websites.

3rd I would like to know all the various ways you can bi-amp speakers.

Thanks in advance,

Josh

How much are you looking to spend? You can go from 30.00 to 1,000.00's of dollars.

Signal is always a great place to start, for all your cabling/wiring needs.

I agree with the above. $ for $ it is pretty hard to beat Signal for entry level cabling. My entire HT System is Signal from Pwr cords to IC's to Speaker Cables. And Frank does a bit of a discount for forum members.

Cobalt Cable is really nice as well. If you want to spend some cash (but not megabucks) on improved quality I highly recommened DH labs Air Matrix and Q10 stuff. They were the best in my set up by far with the exception of some very expensive Analysis Plus cables.

OK, I was just looking on the back of my receiver @ the pre-outs.. There are 2 for (front - L&R) 2 for (surround - L&R) 1 for (Center) 1 for (sub) and 2 for (back surround/presence). My question is, do I just use a regular RCA cable for these? Do I just use (1 - mono) for the center? Are they Digital? Basically I just need to know if I need to buy just regular RCA (patch) cables, or do I need to get Digital to RCA? The vintage amps I bought only have RCA inputs. Do I need to get a Y-adapter for the center channel? Or do I just go to (1) either L or R on the amp?? Im assuming I can use a Y-adapter on the sub out, just in case I wanna add another sub in the future..

    Thanks,

    Josh

BTW, I need some web addy's on these wires.. Cobalt way too much for me right now..

Id say I would spend maybe $100.00 - $150.00 for 100 ft. of speaker wire.

    Interconnects I would guesstimate $40.00 - $75.00 for 6 ft.

If I could get something of quality for less than above stated prices that would be great.

I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

    Also check out www.bluejeanscable.com.

Quality made cables at reasonable prices.

They made a nice difference in my system.
