I'm building a new house, and it will have a dedicated theater. Im looking into buying the Sony VPL VW50 or the new JVC DLA HD1/RS1. My ideal screen will be a 120 inch Stewart Firehawk, any take on which PJ is better. My budget will be around 25-30k for gear, any amp recommendations? AVR? I could save coin and keep my RTi12s, CSi5, and upgrade to FXI5 and RTi6s in the rear, or should I go LSI? I'm at a complete toss up with this, HELP, ADVISE, please so I can get these things on order here shortly.

What are the dimensions of your room going to be?

I'd say you're probably just as well off keeping the RTis if they will be used for 100% movies. Save some change on both power and more expensive speakers.

That being said, $25-30k for GEAR is actually a pretty generous budget. I've seen several dedicated home theaters that cost that much total, including build cost. Have you crunched any numbers to decide where all that is going? If you keep the Mono-Blocks, I'd say just get an Outlaw 7500 to power the other 5 channels, and a matching Outlaw processor. Or you could sell the monoblocks and get pretty much whatever amp you want... 7700 maybe?

You've got a nice RTi setup there; agree with Dane; if just for movies, keep them and get some good amplification.

Use the balance of the budget (almost all of it) for a KILLER dedicated 2 channel room/gear ;)

I was looking at about a room around 20 feet wide, around 30 feet deep. I was thinking of going with a Earthquake Grande Cinoma 7, upgrade to the FXi5s and Rtis for surround, add another PB12 Plus/2. The room will mainly be used for gaming, movies. The budget I have is for gear only, so my options are pretty much open, just need opinions. Has any seen these projectors I mentioned or had a chance to demo.
