I bought a pair of monitor 10's at a yard sale over the weekend and they have mismatched tweeters. One is a SL1000 and the other is a peerless with a small hole in the center of the lens. I would be interested in either one, but prefer the sound of the SL1000. If anybody has a spare they would be willing to let go I would appreciate it. Otherwise I would be interested in a pair of good SL2000's or Sl2500's. Thanks

Does your SL1000 have a silver face plate?

Yes, the face is silver but is a bit oxidized. I need to figure out how to clean it without damaging the diaphram.

I have a bit of high frequency hearing loss and the SL1000 is a bit more detailed for me. I will admit that the peerless is more balanced. I would be happy with either one as long as I can get both speakers matched. I really like the response of these and have yet to hook them up to my good amp. Currently they are hooked up to a Technics SA-505 reciever I tweaked.

Ok, I'll swap you a working SL1000 for your working Peerless, if that's of interest to you.

You can clean the silver face with metal polish.
