Are vintage Polks experiencing a market upswing or is this guy just asking too much (or do I just not know what the hell I'm talking about) ?

Not entirely out of line, but at the top of the market, for sure.
One thing to remember, a lot of sellers 'ask' a little high, so with offers and counters they can end up 'about right'.

Perhaps a bit on the high side, but certainly not way out of line. If those are as nice as he says a decent score at $125."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway?
