I am new to the room and ht in general. Ihave a Harmon Kardon 245 and Polk rm6900's. Can I add the polk r300's to upgrade to 7.1 system and use as front speakers or will the stellites be overpowered? Any advice will help please!

Welcome Rebel. It should probably work fine. Just balance everything out with a spl meter from Radio Shack & you will probably be all set.

Only issues I can see with this is bass management and matching the center. Looking at the manual for this particular unit I see that you can turn off the global bass management, which is very impressive.

Not sure how good the sub is, but you may want to try running the fronts large and crossover all the satellites to the sub. If the sub is capable then you should change the crossover to independent, and set the fronts at around 50hz and set the surrounds and center for around 100hz. This way the fronts will go deeper, and you can take advantage of deeper extension you paid for.

As for the center, try it out and see if you like it. If it doesn't match right then that could be the next upgrade.

I am just learning but I think I got what you are talking about. The center sounds fine so far. Thanks for the help.
