I was doing some browsing for my upcoming HT purchases and found the Denon 987 on sale at Fry's for $799! Regular price $1099. I missed the last one by 5 minutes but got a raincheck for the sale price. I'm not sure if the sale is all Fry's or just the one in Austin, but worth checking out.
Now I'm going to have a real tough time waiting to buy speakers, maybe I'll just stare at my AVR and imagine what it will sound like...

You can never go wrong with a good Denon AVR. It may not be the most expensive or most high-tech, but always a well rounded piece of equipment.
