That is one cheap price. Why would anyone ever buy a pair of Sonys?

Nice, I have the 2 from the last sale and they have performed admirably as my mains coupled with a BIC H-100 subwoofer. Now, do I need 2 more for a future 7.1 setup? Hmmm...

Because they have never done even the tiniest amount of research and are buying gear from name recognition alone. HUGE MISTAKE!!!"SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I hooked these babies up to my vinatage Luxman amp and they sound very very nice; a real steal for the price.

I agree with the above ... they do sound very nice, especially considering the $50 / speaker price and the fact that frys.com does not charge outrageous S&H costs. I'm planning to do a review writeup on the R300's in the next couple weeks. My HT

Actually I believe an engineer from Infinity came in to design Sony's last run of speakers. If it wasnt that, it was someone very well known. The series with the rounded cabs arnt to shabby from what I understand.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I am not sure how Fry's does it, but I have not heard anyone complain yet. I still have a pair of R15s that were the same price and have them hung around my pool table. The sound quality isn't bad for the $98 price tag; and with all the clinking of pool balls and beer bottles, I don't notice anyway. I still am weirded out by the tweeter under design on the new R series, but I guess it would make since if it was set-up as 2/3 of a MTM design.
