Question involving outputs...

I have several questions....
First off, I will be running two preamps eventually. One for 2 channel and one for HT.
Here is what I am curious about...
Basically the question of integrating my mains and subs into the HT setup would be a priority while utilizing the HT preamp crossover and level abilities.
So with that in mind...
Here are the scenarios Ive come up with...
1) Get Frank to make me a cable with a XLR and two RCA ends, one to run to the Odyssey and one of the HT preamp - and on the HT preamp, split the output of the LFE channel and run both subs on the LFE channel...
And get Frank to make me a cable (assuming the HT preamp does not have XLR outs) that goes RCA to XLR to run into the OTHER inputs on the Odyssey. That way when I run HT, I can just turn off the 2 ch pre or not use it and it will receive the signal of the HT preamp.
Am I totally off on this assessment?
I could use the HT Bypass on the odyssey, but since all Klaus does with the multiple outputs on the Candela is feed off the other... I am afraid the HT Bypass would group the mains and subs together into one unit and I would not be able to utilize the crossovers to help lighten the load of the Taylos in HT.
Is this all plausible?
I know when I split the signal into 3 amps in my old system I did not lose any signal.
Just curious... would I lose signal by having Frank make me a cable that breaks off into two?

You technically should loose 3 db with each split, but if the preamp voltage is high enough, no harm done.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

The only split would be at the subwoofer.
Since the preamps would be sending seperate outputs to the amp and the amp has two sets of ins...
But Im not to worried about losing 3 db on dual larger subwoofers.... hehe
Hmmm.... so do you think I would lose output on my mains since there is no split?
I upgraded diagram- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Any difference in outputs is taken care of with calibration.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Hmm...
So this is plausible?
My main concern is losing any quality in the signal, which you didnt mention so I am assuming that would not be a factor, correct?
Sounds good so far... Thanks for the help

You shouldn't really lose quality in a signal that is being amplified. You do want to keep a nice balance between preamp signal and amp sensitivity/input signal. This would only be an issue if you had a line level signal that was already too low and thus more noise would be present raising the whole noise/sound floor up by having to turn the preamp too high.
Think about how much hum/noise you can get sometimes from your pro audio gear when lots of power is running into speakers without any source signal. This is the same effect you want to avoid by lowering the signal levels too low in your home gear.HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

Hmmm....
I dont think I will have that problem with the mains. Especially since I would be running into two seperate inputs...
The subs, they have no limits basically --- and they are loud as hell... not to worried about losing a lil signal there....
Well this sounds like a good plan....
Hmmmm - thank you very much- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
