Center and Front speaker question
Right now i have the rm6750 speaker system. I really like it alot but im looking to upgrade the the front and center. Ive been looking at the rti and monitor lines. I dont want floor standing speakers so thats out of the question and i really cant afford the top speakers in those lines. So i seem to like the csi3 over the cs1, but then i seem to like the monitor 30 over the rti4. If i paired the csi3 and monitor 30s, would the sound mixture be really off. I'm pretty much a nubie on home theater. Ive heard they are not a match, but i was just wondering what kind of effect i would get with those 2 pairings. Thanks

My experience is that the CSi series is a much "brighter" speaker (my wife calls it tinnier) than the Monitor series. It does project more accurate vocals, which is what you want from a center channel, than the monitor centers.
In HT, a majority of the sound comes from the center speaker, nearly all of the dialog, and the only time you might notice the difference in the sound is when something pans through all 3 speakers.
I would suggest buying the best center you can if you're a HT guy. Matching them doesn't seem, TO ME ANYWAY, to be a huge deal for HT. Now if you told me you were a multichannel music fan, that would be different.HT/music rig

If you like the Monitor line, get a CS2. That would be the best timbre-matched center for your lineup.

Where are you located? I know that the Tweeter in Nashville on West End Avenue had them in stock as of yesterday, at least in Cherry, I'm not sure about black finish. They have them discounted 10% because they are closing the store soon. But as someone else noted, you can probably find them cheaper somewhere else.Robert
