50 feet of 10 gauge speaker wire with banana plugs for 38 bucks on PE.

    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=109-064

10 ga. alternating fine-stranded roped layers of oxygen-free copper and precious silver-coated oxygen-free copper for accurate reproduction of all frequencies. Contains two 25 ft. speaker cables.

I also ordered the Flexible Speaker Tips.
    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=099-056

Wow! These are massive cables. Outstanding product! No cloth rope in these cables! Do you hear me Monster Cable? Honest to goodness 10 gauge wire. The 1.2TL's sound better than ever with fresh copper cables and Deoxit Gold on all the connections (binding posts on the amps and speakers). In addition, I removed the binding post cups on the 1.2 TL's and cleaned (had to use sandpaper to expose the copper on the heavily corroded blue wire (+ dimensional) along with the red, black, yellow and white spades and sprayed them with Deoxit Gold. I also sprayed the wire harnessess with Deoxit Gold...
I would venture to say that the corroded wires and connections will result in increased resistance, thus making the amps work harder as well as diminshing the quality of the signal? I played a song that I've heard at least 40 times in the last month, Dire Straits - You and Your Friends, and the meters on the TFM 35's would hit the 250 watt mark with the volume control at the 10 o'clock position on the preamp before I upgraded the speaker wire and used the Deoxit Gold. After the changes the meters peak at no more than 125 watts (scale unchanged btw) and the sound is very clear and dynamic. My system sounded great before and it sounds dramatically better after these changes. After 20 years these speakers were overdue for a cleanup and a lube job. :) Dexoit Gold is the best! (no afil).

I forgot to mention that the SDA effect has improved dramatically resulting in a much wider soundstage! New cables and clean, non-corroded connections do make a difference!!!

You did notice they have one Peerless and one SL1000 tweeter, right?
I offered the guy a SL1000 for the Peerless, to help his sale, but he never answered me..They have been listed on CL and eBay for a month or so.
I already have 2 pair, so I don't need another.

Other than the "0" feedback rating, I find this part rather "amusing" ...
NEVER USED! one speaker fell yesturday after I posted the ad but its just a little blemishes, not anything bad. If you would like to see a picture of that speaker, I have some just let me know.

Bidding starts at $100, but nobody has been "tempted" as yet ... There is probably no way on Earth that those will ship very far for just $30 (more like $30 each, and if he has the original packaging), so the buyer will need to clarify whether they will be charged actual shipping costs or not, or how this will be calculated.

I'd probably only deal with this seller in two ways: (1) PayPal, using Credit Card funding for the "protection" that offers (it does work, but it's a painful process, and it's not guaranteed in all circumstances); or, even better, (2) Local pickup with payment at the time of delivery.
    Alea jacta est!
