Can someone help this grasshopper become a Tube Master? I've read some previous discussions in this forum that have taken place through the years suggesting that buying a preamp such as the ASL Line 1 is a cheap and easy way to experiment with tubes. Would I be moving too quickly if I bought a Rogue Audio Metis or Perseus? I want to complete my 2 channel system (Lsi15, Parasound HALO A23 and Signal Ultra Speaker Cable and Interconnects II) with a good preamp. Right now I'm getting garbage from my Yammie Receiver. Please help me. What's the best way to begin my journey?

The Rogue preamps you targeted are right in the range that will do your current gear justice. There are good deals to be had on the used market if you are comfortable shopping around. Just know that tube preamps can warm up the sound quite a a bit and with the LSi line, some hear a loss in detail or clarity. You may need to experiment with different tube brands to lock into a balance you like.
HT Optoma HD25 LV on 80" DIY Screen, Anthem MRX 300 Receiver, Pioneer Elite BDP 51FD Polk CS350LS, Polk SDA1C, Polk FX300, Polk RT55, Dual EBS Adire Shiva 320watt tuned to 17hz, ICs-DIY Twisted Prs, Speaker-Raymond Cable

    2 Channel Thorens TD 318 Grado ZF1, SACD/CD Marantz 8260, Soundstream/Krell DAC1, Audio Mirror PP1, Odyssey Stratos, ADS L-1290, ICs-DIY Twisted , Speaker-Raymond Cable

When you mention a loss in detail or clarity, are you suggesting the Lsis may benefit more from a SS preamp? How do I know which tubes will mate well with what I have?

Have any of you heard anything good about Vincent Audio? They seem to be slightly unknown here in the states, but appear to make a solid product.
