Hello all,

I'm a HT starting from scratch and wanted some second opinions. I've been reading alot of advice on the forums and here's what I'm thinking so far:

refurbished Denon 2807
RTi8
CSi3
FXi3
probably SVS pb10

Has anyone had any experience with dakmart.com for refurb recievers?

I've been looking at some used LSi15s but it seems like the consensus is that they should be amped. I don't quite have the cash for all that but don't want to upgrade in 6 months either.

By the way, this will be mostly HT use. Thanks

    Welcome.

If you can afford the CSi5, go for it; you won't regret it.

That Denon will drive them fine; I've a 3803 which has I think the same WPC, driving a similar speakers setup and love it.

    Welcome, Wydrow.

I have a similar setup to what you're looking at and I am very happy. It took me years to fully go from the R series to the RTi series so it's great to start out with such a good quality setup.

The sub, in particular, is a terrific deal. I think you will be blown away by it. I agree that if you don't mind spending a little more then the CSi5 is a bit better and will perfectly match the towers. But keep in mind it's a monster (big). Either way, I am sure you will not be disappointed with the CSi3 - if you go that route don't look back, the CSi3 is a great speaker as well. I went with RTi4s as surrounds because I listen to a lot DVD-Audio, but people here have been really happy with the FXi3. Denon matches up really well with the RTi line, I have a cheaper Denon than the 2807 and am very happy. Enjoy!

Haha, I just realized I misspelled "advice" in the title. Too many beers last night I guess.

I'm thinking I'll just wait a month or 2 and see how the new RTiA line sounds. Maybe I'll be able to find a good deal on RTi s once upgradeitis starts spreading with the new line.

Looks good to me!!! Another choice for a sub would be a HSU Research...but from what Ive read the SVS is a popular one. I have the CSi3 and absolutely love it...no regrets...
