Uncle Same did a direct deposit into my checking account last week, so I finally took the plunge and replaced the SL-2000's with the RD0194-1 in my trusty 'ol Monitor 7Cs. Actually, it was hearing a friend's brand new Paradigm Studio 20's that made me jealous, (as my system has always sounded better than his. Now it does again :D )

Like everyone has said, smoother and more detailed.

I always found the 7's to be very "listenable" but now they're even more so (even though I probably need to put some time on the new tweeters to really appreciate them.) I actually hadn't realized how harsh the SL-2000s were until I started reading all the posts here, although I did notice more harshness when I replaced my Yamaha A-520 with an RX-V1300 about 5 years ago. The home theater amp is a lot brighter/crisper than the old A-520, which only exacerbates the harshness in the SL-2000s. I've actually been considering feeding the pre-outs from the RX-V1300 into the A-520 just to drive the mains.
