M7's, stands, time alignment & tweeter height?

In doing some research on specs for the 'polkstand' (great info dorokusai) I'm finding a variety of measurements for the actual height of the stand. They seem to range from about 3" to 11". I realize the measurements were given for 10's and 7's, which are different heights, but have not been able to find and exact height for the 7's.

I'm also having trouble working out how high the stand should be taking into consideration the tilt (which I've read to be between 3-6 degrees). I'm assuming that the tilt provides for a lower tweeter height as the high frequencies are basically 'aimed up' towards the listener. Is that close?

Could a guy make a custom measurement (for height/tilt) based on the tweeter/ear height and distance from the fronts? So if ears are about 40" off the floor and I'm about 11' back from the fronts......dammit, math. They siad you'd need that and I didn't listen. D'oh!

I like my monitor 5's on 18" stands. It puts the tweets near ear level.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

If your ears are 40" up then your tweets should be too. I don't see any reason for tilt if your tweets are right at ear level but I could be wrong.

Also, remember to keep your speakers in an equilateral triangle with your listening position.

From what I understand the tilt is for 'poor man's time alignment'. I get the basic concept of time alignment and heard products that utilize it as a major design principle; Thiel, Vandersteen. They sounded great but these are 25 year old Polk's, not several thousand dollar speakers, and I'm not going to be running them with $5k worth of electronics (as those speakers were using). I guess what I'm really asking is if the tilt will actually make performance difference, or should I just be concerned with getting the tweeter exactly at ear height.
