I have an Onkyo TX-SR503 and I'm wanting to hook my DVD player video hookups and my PS2 video hookups to it. How do you hook up video connections to your receiver?

I own an Onkyo TX-SR304 and here's how I hooked my VCR/dvd combo unit. Take a RCA connector type coax cable from your "DVD OUT" to your amp's "DVD IN" (colored yellow on the inside of the amp's connector). You probably won't have to reprogram our amp for that hook up. I'd guess that's the amp's default. You can buy an RCA hook up cable with three wires and the ends are colored yellow (for video) plus red and white (for left and right speakers). Hook up your DVD sound outputs to the "red" and "white" connectors on your amp (below the "DVD .

For your PS2 I'd suggest you hook it up to "Video 2" like you did for your DVD player.

On your remote select which one you want to see (and hear) by pushing one of the numbered buttons on it. It probably "6" for your DVD and "2" (labeled "V2" for "Video 2") for your PS2.

I have a Nintendo DS which doesn't have a video output so I bought a "Y" connector for my sound output and hooked it up to "Video 3".

If your DVD unit supports TOSLINK ("Optical" on your amp) I'd suggest you get a TOSLINK cable and use that for your DVD sound input instead of the coax cables ("red" + "white"). I bought two 12' TOSLINK cables from monoprice.com for about $15.00 (includes shipping price). If you decide to use the TOSLINK hoop up you'll have to connect your DVD video "Video 1" and reprogram your amp so that "Video 1" is "connected" to "Optical 1".

    Hope this helps!
