Question on SRS 1.2TL's
Hey guys,
One of my biggest goals right now (hope that doesn't sound too pathetic) is to have a set of these gorgeous speakers by the end of the year. My problem is that being a car audio guy I'm at a loss on home amplifiers or how much headroom is needed in home audio. That said I could really use some advice on amplifiers to power these beauties and get their full potential but hopefully without spending a small fortune. As far as price goes I'm probably going to put around $1500 into the speakers and wind up driving a good 10 to 20 hours each way to get the speakers (no way in hell would I trust them to freight...) So i'm not going to skimp on the amplifier. SO..... Dedicated 2 channel amplifier or 2 monoblock amplifiers, clean power, good frequency response, durable, and in the $1000-1500 price range...

Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

There are any number of excellent choices other than the usual suspects found here. Sites like Audiogon always have a nice selection.Political Correctness'.........defined

Just like everything else take some time and do some research. There are so many good threads here as well as other sites. One key thing to remember about some SDA's is that you have to use common ground amplifiers and as rule most mono blocks are NOT common ground. Stick with something high current and DO NOT forget how important a good pre-amp and source are to the overall sound. Synergy is what you should be looking for and sometimes experimenting with different gear is the only way to reach nirvana.
The usual suspects that F1 mentioned can be a great starting point, but still do the reasearch. Also it's important to know what your end goal is going to be. HT, 2 ch, room size, listening habits, music type, etc.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!
