Fxi5 placement???
Hello all,
I'll keep it short and sweet. Others have probably asked this but we are knee deep in the HT build and are now looking at 4 of the Fxi5's and scratching our collective heads.
Here goes: Room size 12Wx24Lx8H (10' ceiling with 2' sofet) w/stadium seating on three platforms starting from the rear of the room:
rear/top platform: 48" wide/21" above floor level
mid platform: 72" wide/14" above floor level
front platform: 72" wide/7" above floor level
I will have 2 RTi12 fronts, 2 PSW505 Subs (both up front for now) and now the question:
Where do I place these four FXi5's for my surround?
Right now we have the sides set at the seated listening positions ~2' above the listener with the drivers firing rearward.
The backs are 32" in and ~2' above the listening position with the drivers firing inside.
Any suggestions is greatly appreciated and if I'm in the wrong part of the forum please forgive my ignorance and I'll post up in the right spot next. I've got pics if you'd like to see the set up. We think this is a layman's setup, no pros here.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like your placement is good. I have my Fxi5's in dipole mode, to the sides. My back wall has a pair of Polk in-walls.

I tried what you did, and found it sounded better with the driver firing forward2 CHANNEL
