I'm guessing the Koennigsegg CCX or something like that. Lemme see how far off I am....
Oh, wait....drrr...I bet it's the Bugatti Veyron. Why is everyone just now getting excited about this car? It's old news. It's a million bucks.
The Koennigsegg (sp?) will do about 231 and has faster acceleration IIRC and looks better IMO for much much much less. Around 200,00 - 300,00 IIRC.George Grand wrote: »

Or you could just hop on almost any sport bike out there right now, remove the rev limiter, and get it up to 200 MPH twice as fast
And for under 10 grand. If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Just watching made my eyes water.
I might have to have a good cry after that. What a machine!!!Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service. -

I still can't get over the fact an engine that produces 1000hp would require a ton of fuel. So near the end where he states at top speed the "Tires would last 50 Min's but that's ok the fuel would last only 12 Min's" Love it.

That Bugatti is quite a machine. I watched a show on the making of it and the things the engineers had to overcome were off the charts. The biggest being how to get rid of all the heat produced. I remember when the then head of Volkswagen announced that come hell or high water this car was going to make it off the drawing board and into production. The engineers in the beginning thought it was going to be impossible to make it reliable enough to drive w/o having a mechanic on call 24/7.

The Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is US street legal, less that half the price of the Bugatti at around $550,000 and is just barely slower at 248 mph. Not just a one off either. Saleen has won 7 GT racing championships with S7s. Good ole' American V8 horsepower. I'd own one.

IMO, the S7 looks ridiculous with all those vents. I'd rather have a Koennigsegg CCX any day. I'd even take a C6 ZO6 with some minor porting on the exhaust ports, headers, tuning, and some forged slugs over it.
As for the Bugatti, that's one of the few cars I'd be afraid to drive, even though it's a slushbox."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -

It's a question of value
Who made it a question of value? I say it isn't.
I say it's sitting in a quiet, air conditioned cockpit, in a posh leather seat, listening to Stravinsky - but moreso the engineering of it all. It's pure opulence at it's finest.
Cheers,
