OK peeps,I've had two stereo shop guys come over besides the first one now and we've come to the conclusion (more them than me) that I am under powering my mains with my big marantz that I thought was the be all end all reciever, boy am I too noobish! So now I am on a quest for a 2 channel amp for my mains,I need some input on brands and power suggestions.I hear these mains I have are pretty hungry.I'm not a rich guy so I have a 500 to 700 buck budget I'm pretty much tied to,I want to buy used anyway. Thanks in advance for your input.:)

A used Rotel RB-1080 at 200wpc 8 ohms would be at the top of your budget. Lots of guys use this amp.
(edit) phipiper10 beat me to it.

Outlaw M200s seem to be popular. Last I checked there were 2 in our own flea market for $200 each. That would give you your 200wpc below your budget.

I'm also considering the Outlaws, based on what I have heard they are good amps and very popular.

Sticking stereo I preferred the A23 over my current RB-1070. Only issue with the A23 is the thing gets quite hot, warm all the time and hot after movies. The RB-1070 is cool all the time and warm on one side after movies. I have not experienced a 1080 so I can't speak on how it would compare.

You could also check out B&K their Ref 200s are quite impressive (200wpc+). You might be able to get one <$700.
