Slow Turntable.

My TT is a JVC LA100 with Ortofon 5 cart I bought in 1984. I used it for several years, then it sat for several. I pulled it out of storage and it had the following issues.
1) It wouldn't start turning unless I gave it a push.
2) Once it started turning, it wasn't spinning at constant RPM. VERY badly.
So, I bought a new belt and that almost fixed the RPM problem. Now it plays a little slow (based on my ear and comparison to the same thing on CD) and I still need to give it a push sometimes. Do I need a new motor, or might it snap out of it after more use? I'm thinking maybe the motor brushes just need to be "shined up" again.

I had to put two drops of 40 w motor oil on the motor shaft to get my old gal performing correctly.
I was also told by the manufacturer's customer service that if motor oil doesn't work, use a good 3 in 1 oil, if that fails, use WD 40 with the little red straw and shoot some down into the motor spindle base. . . luckily the motor oil worked. -
do either of you have an owners manual? i also have this turntable but i lost my manual a long time ago and need to set the tracking...can you help?
thanks,
