I have recently acquired this player and find that the audio isn't as loud nor as dynamic as my old player (see sig). Does this player have less gain than most DVD players? I have the dynamics at max, I just seem underwhelmed. Although I have to admit that the sub seems better integrated. For some reason it has more control and not as noticeable. (I have moved the sub about 6 inches)

I am just using a coax.....I think I have all the settings correct. Anything I could possibly have not set right.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mick...This may sound like a stupid question.....

did you try playing with the oppo's volume near the top of the remote? I had to tinker with it when playing in dvd audio or sacd mode

    Mike,

Double check all your settings. It sounds like something is out of sorts. I have the 971H OPPO & it performs super with audio & video for movies.

PS - have you been over to the Police Chief's place lately? Don't forget to leave your credit cards home if you do venture over there!! LOL:p

Mike I had to use the volume control on the remote to maximum volume to get it to sound right but then again that is just for SACDs. I would imagine it would be the same for DVDs.

Thanks guys, I didn't know that the unit had its own volume attenuator. Heading off to work in a bit..I will have to look into it when I get home.

I have not been to officer Clarke's place lately. Too poor these days:D

I have just purchased a couple of Black Sand Cable Silver Reference MK V power cords however. I am buying them through the AudioNervosa group buy thing that is going on.......35% off. Figured I would try them. If anybody is interested today is the last day to buy them.

    Thanks again,
    Mike
