I'm planning on getting a denon dcm 390 cd player to replace my current sony dvp-ns575p cd/dvd player which retails for around 50 some bucks! Will I hear a 260 dollar worth of sound quality change(cost of denon). I cannot return the product once I buy it.

I have a hk3480 stereo receiver, rti8's, and monster audio cables.

Why don't you get a Denon 2910 or something along those lines? For the same price, you could have just as potent a DVD player/SACD player.

its solely for music so I am not looking into a dvd combo player. The denon 390 has a HDCD compatability...not sure what the difference is compared to sacd.

Check out oppo brand DVD players. Many Polkers swear by them, and they can be had for $150-200.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

The 2910 has HDCD decoding as well. Just seems like a more worthwhile investment for about the same price. Granted you can't really find it new for that much, but that's what I'd go with if Denon was the choice.

The Oppo's another great option. Best bang for the buck.

I switched from a kenwood CD player and Sammi DVD to a Denon 2900. SQ and DVD playback were a big improvement.

I got a Sony SCD-C222ES off ebay and it's great! Plays cds and SACDS, has a headphone jack with separate amp if you want to ease into Cans one day, great build quality, attractive display, etc.

Just a thought. They are also upgradeable / modable if you get some extra cash down the line and want to pimp your source.
