I have 2 Female RCA > 2 male splitters

Can I use those to split the signal of my L/R to go to my 5 channel amp for HT and the other to my ASL mono blocks and leave them connected and just turn on which ever amp(s) I want to listen to?

Will this hurt anything or cause signal degradation on a level that would impact my modest system?

Scott

    I did this once.

In short it just does not work. Period - little to no sound.
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I've done this and it worked fine. What you suggest won't hurt anything. However your results may vary. Some audiophiles with golden ears may gasp, though.

Try it with the splitters, then moving the cables back and forth. You decide. You can always try an expensive pair of splitters, as apposed to the $3 radio shack ones. If you do, let us know the results.

Yes, it depends on the GAIN of the pre-amp in the output stage in regards to volume....it may or may not work well.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have decent quality splitters AQ Copperhead. I tried just hooking my Yamaha up to my ASL and I had a decent hum which drove me crazy and it sound quality was pretty harsh, which I think is either my AVR or my DVD.

I decided to just listen to my computer directly connected to the ASL and Monitor 5's and it was awesome. I am getting a huge sound stage @ 10-12 feet wide with instruments (mostly guitars) beyond and in front. Main vocals in the center with bass below the vocals, at times the back up vocal seemed to nearly wrap around to my listening position.

I listened to music from 7:30-11:30 last night all at 90+ db's.

I listened to the whole album or nearly the whole album of Train, Beatles One album, Eric Clapton, Dada, The Clarks, Bob Marley, Counting Crows and The Connels.
