I would buy these but I don't need them. They pop up everyday on ebay but it's nice to get them for under $40 each. If you haven't experienced these old stock tubes, they're worth a listen.

    I'm determined to avoid that scenario. I'm up to 5 spares I think and that is plenty. Have you ever listened to the telefunken ecc803s's? I'm tempted to try some but haven't given in yet and their price is helping me resist.

    Ought to ask the telef experts, is there any way (not put it am amp and measure) to distinguish the Telef 12AU7 and 12AX7 rib plates? I stupidly cleaned up the silk screen of some used tubes, and a few of them are obviously 12AU7 or 12AX7 rib plates .....
