Did you see his other posts? He asked one real question, posted about 3 times then fulfilled the minimum requirements with slashes. He could easily redeem himself by posting useful or legitimate stuff; I would at least accept him as long as he didn't try to sell this stuff again.

Yes, I saw his other posts. However, there have been plenty of people who went straight to the FS forum and ended up to be very helpful members. All this bashing does is scare people away.

Posting the way this **** did shows he outright wanted to scam the system that was put in place to keep people that aren't known from being one post wonders. I'm not bothered if some newbie comes here and gets offended when he's mocked in the same way he mocked the forum by doing what this guys has.

He won't sell his stuff here, and it's marginal that anyone will care if he decides to leave for good. (we always do miss the entertaining morons)......

I think a lot of this stuff is pretty funny, but I don't really think this guy was trying to scam anyone. I think he is new at forums, and didn't realize that what he did was doing something so bad.

I bought my monitor 10's from a one-post-wonder... that was before the 30 post rule was in effect, obviously. Turned out to be a very nice guy, and everything went down smoothly. But, I don't like the way this guy (and others) are getting around the new rules in place. They're there for a reason...

What makes you think that? Did he explain that in some meaningful way? About all he did was ask the "mod" to remove the thread - he apparently knew enough about forums to know there must be a moderator...

I think he put up some items that he didn't bother to put in his signature line. It's not like he was here to learn and all of a sudden (measured in minutes) realized that he might want to try some SDAs or LSis. He came here to unload some stuff and pissed people off by posting 24 superfluous replies filling them with some stupid, moronic \\\\'s.

He will check back every so often today and tomorrow to feel the flames and then be gone. With any luck at all, like Polk_audio_LSi, he will come back with a different use name and we can figure him out again.

Have you even read what bchiver has done. He has deserved every post this thread has gotten. If you don't think this guy should get bashed, then you can just piss off and have fun in another forum.

And, believe or not, MOST people who go straight to the FS section are just here to sell.

I'm all for upping it. I always thought 25 was way too low. Make it fifty or a hundred, and you'd lose 75% of the losers who are just trying to pawn off their gear.

Being relatively new still, I want to feel totally secure when purchasing ya know?

Nah, then you just sign up, wait a few months, and pop back in selling gear! That would be even worse.

Maybe a combo of 3 months plus 50 posts... That'd work I think.

I think I posted about 10 stupid offensive posts early on, and I really appreciate the wealth of knowledge that I have received from club Polk. I feel from my experiences with advice that I have received from fellow Polkies that I am semi capable of posting contributing advice to newbies that are just like I was.
    just my 2 cents

I totally agree ...... with the "I'm sure there's more to come". :)

And I'd have to say almost no one bashes new members (except if they don't post enough cat pictures).

The full-tilt bashing is reserved almost exclusively for folks who have been around and are either:
    1. Pretty hard-headed and who, not unlike a mule, need to be hit in the
head with a 2 X 4 to get their attention.
    2. In a self-defined category such as Polk-Lsi (who manages to also fall
    into category 1).
    3. Post opinions as facts with no supporting material.

bchievers isn't the first one to step on his crank, and he won't be the last.
But when you do, make corrections, and move forward.
Kind of hope he does that.

In the meantime, that idea of MrNightly's has some merit: 30 days/50 posts.
    Posts other than " //// ///// ". :)
Do that, and ...... well ....... expect to get some heat, and I'd have to say rightfull so.

I think all the newbs should send me their credit card number, then I will use it to purchase something audio related, I will demo the piece and report back to the gang on the piece along with the remaining CC balance of the CC's limit.

The newb will then be given a Senior Sponser who will receive the demo piece. After a while, when the CP counsel meets the Sponser may apply for full membership for their protegee, of course only when they feel the time is right.
