busted speaker e90t or m60

Let me first say that I am speaker illiterate! I purchased the e90t from Tweeter after Thanksgiving. I have them hooked up (I am not sure properly) to a 700w Sony surround sound receiver with no subwoofer. I was playing Jay Z's Hollywood at about 65 when I heard that dreadful sound, I bust a speaker. The one closest to the floor.

My questions: How do I get a replace speaker and what equipment and proper hookup do I need to do to prevent this from happening again?

were the m60's a part of a surround set up? were other speakers playing, but only the mains blew? gonna need some more details to give more insight, but if your not running a sub, that means all the bass is going to the speakers, and it sounds like you might have given them too much, or, if its a lower end reciever, then perhaps not enough (do a search on here for "clipping" for the reason why underpowering a set of speakers is very very bad.

how did you have them hooked up?. again, more details might help.
click the link on the top of the page for support (with the little smiley face) and reach out to them as well. Polk CS is pretty top knotch, and they can help as well.

If you are running the e09's full-range at high volumes on a Sony, I could see them blowing a driver. . .

With good/clean separate amp power, I haven't had any issues even when I bump with them in full-range (I usually got sub-on and Large for 2-channel listening in that room, sounds fuller to me that way rather than sub-on and Small).

I'm sure you can get a replacement driver from Ken at Polk CS. You may want to look into a sub for the rap music, tho. Cross the e90s at 80hz or so and run the lower frequencies through the sub.
