I managed to make it through a good portion of them last night, falling asleep a few times in the process.

Bring back John Stewart and scrap Ellen Degenerate! BORING!

I'm glad Scorsece won best director and Departed won Best Picture. He should have 3 oscars to his name for Raging Bull and Goodfellas, but it's nice to see he finally got it.

The hottest presenter by far (IMHO) was Reese Witherspoon. Good GAWD!!!! When she came out to present that award...Blazing hot!!!

WTF was up with Cameron Diaz's hair? She had the lawnmower chopped to shreds look. She didn't look good at all.

John
No excuses!

Someone asked me this morning if I watched the Oscars and I told them I never turned it on. They were surprised because I watch lots of movies and have a fairly large DVD collection. I told her to me the Oscars has very little to do with movies and everything to do with "Stars". I have no interest in the so-called stars (either real or self perceived), what they wear, who they show up with or what their opinion is on anything (except possibly acting and/or movies). I enjoy watching actors ply their craft if they are good at it. Anything else, I could care less.

As far as awards are concerned, I rarely agree with the opinions of whoever the "academy" is, so the awards they give means little to me as well. Since movies are art...the old adage applies...it is truely in the eyes of the beholder. I know what I like and the rest is unimportant to me.

Most awards shows (read : all awards shows) are just Hollywood patting themselves on the back. It has very little to do with the general public.

I threw the Oscars on my DVR and will fast forward through it tonight, looking for anything entertaining, but I doubt I'll see anything.

Like shack said, I rarely agree with them, so who really cares?
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.
