Here is what I have and what I plan to do:

Placement/Spearkers
Receiver: Yamaha RXV2500

Fronts: RT800i

Center: CSi40

Surrounds: RC85i

TBD: RTi4

Wiring: 14 GA Monster (bi-wiring the RT800i)

I have build a nice-looking floating shelf for the components and the 42" Samsung LCD. The center will be mounted (also a floating look) under the shelf (approx. 30" from the floor). The RT800i's will be an equitable spacing of course.

I plan to mount the RC85i's as rear surrounds in the ceiling about 1' behind the main seating area. Thoughts?

Not sure what to do with the RTi4's. I am thinking of mounting them on the wall a few feet above the RT towers (they seem to give a nice compliment to them). Or should I mount them some where behind the seating area (not sure where). Thoughts?

Any help/guidence would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Patience ffej0872. A little more info wouldn't hurt, room size, etc. I believe the receiver is 7.1 so you may want to use them as the sides or rears. You will find that the folks here have a wealth of knowledge and have helped me tremendously but you can't expect replies quickly all the time. The "nothing" reply doesn't help either. Just relax and play nice and you'll get replies.

Great. Thanks for the advice. And thanks for killing my thread.

I'd have to say, I didn't think this type of forum would have the failings you typically find with the run-of-the-mill, good-for-nothing message boards but I guessed wrong. There you will find people who jump the gun and jack threads because they misinterpret a post (even there they know a follow-up post that reads "nothing?" is nothing more than a "bump" to send your post to the top for more exposure not thowing down the gauntlet). Relax boys, you can have your ivory towers and your playground back. I'll look elsewhere for y information. You make Polk proud I'm' sure.

I don't understand/recommend using both inwalls and bookshelves unless the room placement calls for it. I would decide which I preferred and match the sides/surrounds with the rears. Personally, I find Polks inwalls to be the lesser performing or a compromise unless you go for their best line that matches the LSi lineup well.

I've always felt that a great 5 channel setup beats an average 7 channel everytime.

Welcome to CP, and stick around and let us know how it all turns out for you.

What is your problem man? Putting "Nothing?" in your thread to bump it makes you sound like an ****, not like you are looking for any help.........Nobody killed your thread, but there is a different etiquette everywhere, and he was trying to tell you that. Honestly, I think you really haven't been flamed at all compared to some of the other threads I have read around here, so take it easy man.

I agree.A properly done 5.1 is all most people would need.

It's easy to misinterpret tone etc. on a forum. I'm sure the OP and the rest of us can let this meaningless argument go.

Sorry, I can't help you since I have zero knowledge of in-walls. I just wanted to see if we can get you some help with your audio situation and forget the other stuff.

    Happy thoughts all!

Yes, but a great 7 channel system beats a great 5 channel every time.

Uggh... did I ruin this thread too?
