My favorite piece so far...
Cary SLP-2002 W/Cap upgrade...
From the "**** & Guts" thread
"Guts" that are filled w/ goodies like Solen, Auricap and Audionote.

I bought his piece from a well known member here on the Forum, who I`m sure will back me up on this one....this baby rocks !

very low hours on this pre amp..
it doesn`t have a phono stage, but it does have Rca and Xlr in/out,
Theater Pass Through, Remote control volume ,Headphone out , etc.

Original box, Manual, Minty Remote
I`ll Rate it at a conservative 8.5-9/10, because I`m the second owner
Face is Minty, remote is Minty....Matched pair of Amperex 12ax7, and a great pair of Bugle Boys 6922 reside ...

I`m only selling it to see what the "next level" pre amp is all about !

    I saw this baby last Saturday and she's as purdy as they come, inside and out. Sounds great too!

    That's exactly it in a nutchell.

    It was originally bought from Kevin Deal/Upscale Audio with every upgrade available at that time by Cary Audio. The guts are unbelievable and the tube compliment is stellar.

    I'm not sure what Robert ran this on since its been in his house, but it never failed to impress on anything that creeped thru mine.

    I miss it but know exactly what you mean....time to try something old, something new, something expensive, something taboo.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    I know that rack is sweet :D You know where to knock on that Parasound, just for future reference....although I'm not holding my breath....as well as, you would be insane.

    surprised no one grabbed this yet, this has to be the same pre we heard at Polkfest 05 right? I loved that unit. I dont have the cheddar to snag it (and I love my anthem too much anyway), but this pre is no joke.

    same one that was at the PF`05...
    It`s really an outstanding piece, but I have my eye, and hopefully my ears, on a unit that costs way more than I have, so....

    If somebody is looking for a real keeper, here it is !
    If I didn`t need the cash so bad , I wouldn`t even be considering selling her..
    it`s not like you can just go out and buy another one like this....the mods are done by Dennis Hadd..

    If something comes through, I`ll be keeping this one too ..!!!!

    The pre I`m looking at cost more than any other piece I have ever owned, but I gotta have it !!

    Robert - Good point, as I forgot about that tidbit.

    If I recall correctly....When I bought the unit it didn't have the upgrades as originally declared by Kevin Deal.

    He had it shipped to Cary Audio and after subsequent, multiple conversations with Dennis Had and Gerald Walsh?(Tech), Dennis said he would take care of the changes personally. The entire upgrade was going to handled by Dennis who IS a hands-on audionut and DIY'er.

    Hey, I don't actually know if he did, but beings I've had some intimate dealings with that company over the years on multiple units....I don't doubt it and it's kinda neat to know the owner touched your gear.

    When I bought my recent, now gone SLP-98, I asked if Dennis would initial it inside....sure enough DJH resides in there for the new owner, That's just neat.
