Gotta make room for the BAT

For sale is my M-3,smooth attenuators (not stepped) I'll rate it a 7 due to the fact that I'm the second owner. New Sovteks in the line,EI Elites in the phono section. I'll pack/wrap in my usual fashion and dig out what manuals I have. $625.00 shipped conus. I'll also throw in some Groove tubes that have about 50 hours on them.

    what exactly are attenuators used for? I thought attenuators were things that attenuates your frequency response like filters.

    They are used as the volume controls. Instead of using a noisy potentiometer an attenuator can be used. It has many positions, each with their own resistor network. Pretty much it runs the signal through a single resistor rather than through a coil of wire like a pot uses. This cuts out any inductance and keeps the signal more pure.

    Did you mention the phono preamp?? They have an awesome tube based phono pre-amp built in. Very nice for MM carts. Looking to get into vinyl, you can't beat this piece.

    Thanks,, the phono section has the EI Elites in it,, which are new,,for the price,I think that this is a great way to get into tubes.

    Thanks,, I really wanted to offer it here first,, the M-3 was one of my first ventures into tubes,,and it will be leaving me in better shape than it arrived( tubewise),, oh well :)
