Hey guys! I still see a lot recognizable names here. Good to see
It's been quite a while since I've made the time to enjoy this great hobby. I think in all craziness I forgot how much I enjoy it. Job change, new house, home renos, new pup... yada yada yada. And a whole bunch of other poor excuses...
A few months ago I put together a little mobile headphone setup for work with a Headroom Total Bithead and Shure E4's hooked up to my laptop. I started ripping Cds lossless and enjoying music once again.
Using a laptop as a source has rekindled the fire so now I'm on a search for a decent upsampling DAC for my main system.
Any thoughts?

Hey Dave. Long time no hear. I am not too experienced in the DAC world but at one time I considered a Musical Fidelity trivista DAC. Good reviews. After I thought about it I decided that I did not want 2 pieces of gear, just one. Good luck.Michael

Mike, you were close... the name's Derick. How's the weather up there? We've got almost no snow here. It was too warm to snow, then too cold! Lol. The Trivista's on my watch list along with the Bel Canto DAC2 and Benchmark. I'm leaning towards the Bel Canto though, if I can find one.
Beardog, I'll be stopping by here regularly once again. Have you tried the Bithead on you computer via USB? It took me a little while to configure it properly with ASIO and such but once that was all done it started producing some pretty decent results.SDA-2a, Anthem Pre-2L, Anthem Amp 1, MF A324 DAC, Rotel RCD1070

Sorry about that Derick. See, you have been away TOO long.
Lots of snow this year (more than normal) and actually warmer than normal as well. It's only -33C with the windchill -45C this evening.Michael
