I have used mine for years and though I have had many super highend sets, I always fall back on these. Some of the best sounding I have ever heard
As for reliability, just replacing the woofer surrounds occasionally is my only expense ever aside from initial purchase cost
I also like the Bose 10.2 towers and hope to get another pair someday for reasonable

You asked.......I'm glad your Infinity's do IT for you. But you won't find much love for Bose around here. And for me personally, I've never heard a pair of Infinity's that were ever more than just average and many times below average. Their hey dey has come and gone a long time ago. Hey, you asked for opinions
Welcome to the madness and enjoy the forum"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
I've got a pair of sm 100's, you could not get me to sell them, they belong in the trash. They are way to bright, besides that, my boys kinda messwd up one of the woofers, it has all kinds of creases in it. I think the best thing about them is the cabinets. The front baffle is like 1.25 inches think. I just might measure the box, and crunch some numbers and see if I can find a woofer that will work in that volume, and get some vifa, or peerless tweets to throw in, and see what I come up with. The crossovers would be bypassed, and new ones installed. The crossover that is in them right now are mounted to the back of the l-pad, and would have to stay. Another thing I don't like about them is the tweeter location, they are placed left of center, either put them in the middle, or mirror the cabinets so they will image better.

LOL
Guess I have been out of the loop too long
The Infinity's were considered very good speakers when I bought them new MANY years ago
I like them, that's all that counts I guess -
That's exactly it. It matters not what I say, your wife, your boss or friends, as long as you like them then that is all that really matters.
