Enclosure progress for 6 db 12's

I used up the last of my resin tonight so I am gonna finish that one little section of the fleece tomorrow and then start laying mat/resin on the inside. The enclosure total volume is approximately 6 ft^3 and that's NET including bracing and sub displacement. I may be off by about 5% or so, but it's still gonna give me more than Polk's recommended .88 per sub. I will be giving the subs about 150 watts RMS each from an Arc Audio 2500XXk, so it should sound good, clean and loud.

Embedded them for you.

very cool design, what are those black things you're using to space the rings?
What is this going into?MacLeod: I guess youre lucky Polk has such lax hiring standards.
Josh: Damn skippy! -
Thanks for the comments! The black things spacing the rings is 1/8" ABS plastic bent and shaped for strength. It's really easy to do, just use a straight piece and heat and bend the ends to match the mouting points then heat and bend the middle section in a round-ish shape for strength. This is going in the cargo area of a Scion xB.

I have a picture with the rings cut out now. I also fiberglassed about 95% of the interior...ran outta FG resin. I am trying to get Photobucket to come up, but it keeps timing out or something...maybe tomorrow.

Got some more work done on the box. I ended up carpeting the box in a dark grey carpet. In the picture you really can't see the curvy details, but it looks great. I still have some detail work to finish such as a trim piece in the middle of the two lower sub.

So far I am very impressed with both the output and very low distortion level of the setup. It hit so hard that I can't close my hatch while it's playing because it won't latch! What really amazed me is how controlled and accurate 6 12's can sound when the gain is lowered and setup as an SQ vehicle would be.

I tell ya, those DB subs are pretty bad ****! "Entry level" my ****!
Ive only heard the DB 212-2 and it not only hit very hard but sounded very good!polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

beautiful work. Looks fantastic, glad youre pleased with the sound, Polks have a tendency to do that to people:D

I am having a problem calling them "entry level" also. I think it's kinda like buying a Ferrari, even when you buy the cheapest one, you still own a Ferrari.
Polk really does great things with research, I just wish my poor xB could handle the weight of 6 SR 12's and the necessary amplification for them.
Thanks for all the positive comments everyone! I'll keep posting pics as I progress...it will be a little slower now, but it will get better!
