hdmi question

hi all,i have denon 987 avr and a denon 757 dvd...my question is when you run the hdmi cable for sound and picture.which dac's are being used the avr's or the dvd players..i still don't understand the hdmi thing that well yet..thanks for any help..:confused::)

    Carmos, HDMI is a digital connection, so the HDMI output from the player has to be digital, which means that the DACs in the player haven't converted it to analog. The conversion to analog for sound is then done by the DACs in the receiver.
