A Duet - John Waite and....??????

As I was scanning up and down the remote looking for something halfway interesting to watch on TV I happened to pause on CMT (Country Music Television). Nothing unusual, except for the fact that I'm looking at John Waite. Lead singer for the Babys and Bad English and singer of a pretty big hit back in the 80's..."Missing You".
There have been rock/pop artists crossover to country before...but that wasn't the case here. They were showing a video of him singing "Missing You". As if seeing him on CMT wasn't unusual enough...the other singer of the duet capped it off.
He has done a new album of his songs "Downtown - Journey of a Heart"...not just a greatest hits album...but a re-recording of the songs. This duet was one of them. Here is the cover of the album...(in the video his hair is real short...not like the album cover):
And here is his duet partner....(from the video):
Their video was pretty good. The duet was true to Waite's original recording with NO country overtones. Alison shows she is not limited to country/bluegrass. It would be interesting to hear how these two got together to record this song.

How interesting. I had never heard of him before, but I just discovered him yesterday when I heard Restless Heart through Pandora.George Grand wrote: »

It's a decent cut, but does NOTHING to showcase Allison's voice. If you liked her there, put a diaper on before you hear any of her other recordings, and what she can REALLY do. (not you Steve, I know you've heard it, just for others reading).
Actually, the first time I heard the new Missing You track on the radio, I couldn't place the song and thought it was Don Henley. They (John and Don) sound very similar - and I had never noticed it before.
I've always said, the world is a better place thanks to tubes, and Allison Krauss.
Cheers,

I remember him and always thought of him as a one hit wonder! You know the 5 second short for 60s, 70s, 80, 90, hit music commercials.

John Waite, his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I can't stand it.If...
