SVS 20-39 CS-Plus

I was looking at buying a 20-39 CS-Plus. I have a HK AVR-7300 receiver. I can't seem to find whether or not it controls subwoofer phase. If it doesn't, how bad of a thing is it?

What are you going to run the SVS with? (what kind of amp?)

Your reciever will only provide a low level signal meant for an amplifier of some kind to amplify and they send on to your sub. You can get any kind of amp you want to do that. If you purchase a subwoofer amp. (like a plate amp from parts express) it will have a phase control on it. Without that - you can only control phase as in-phase or 180degrees. (reverse the speaker cables)

I use a standard amp and have no issues at all with phase. From the testing I have done with other subs in my environment - I have never really been able to hear the difference that changing the phase made. I would not worry overmuch about it.

    Pre\Pro...........NAD T163 (Modded with LM4562 opamps)

The sub does not have any way to control phase other than by switching the wires on your amp.

Unless you buy a "dedicated" subwoofer amp with phase controls...

By the way...I think you should let your HK power the rears and bridge one of those Carver monsters for the SVS.

You're going to scare the dog. Who knows what will happen to the cat.

I've 'heard TB's setup and it sounds great. These are the first RTi12's I've listened to. I was surprised at how deep they dig. So, what are some recommended crossover points for these? He's got a boatload of power going to the 12's, and will have a nice amp powering the SVS.

I'll use the spare channel on one of my Carver M1.0ts to drive the sub. The other is driving the center channel. That amp is rated at 500 watts at 4 ohm, so it should get plenty of power.

By the way, I already ordered it.

The dog will be fine, and hopefully the cat dies of a heart attach!!!!
