Speaker placement?

Hey guys
Still listening to my Monitor 12's and enjoying! But i have a question about placement... In order to get the most bass (not the best) just the most, i have these in the corner of my room (room is 18x18x7 high). Now i have moved these things everywhere and the only place for bass is in the corners, but shouldn't these speakers pump out bass even in the middle of the room? Or does the room make the bass?
I get great low (very low) bass, but they seem to lack in the Mid bass department...
I know my amp is still underated (but it's all i have for now) 80wpc... But is there any way i can squeeze more "midbass" out of these by different placement?
Too many wants and not enough money...
Thanks
Mother

Well, you nailed it. You need a much better amplifier to give these the bass you want. It was the first thing I noticed when I upgraded my amplifier from from an adcom 535 (around 65 wpc into 6 ohms) to my current Rotel RB-980BX (about 150 wpc into 6 ohms) was a massive increase in controlled bass. I'd honestly say try to upgrade that amplifier of yours to something more robust. You need that dynamic headroom to get quality, loud bass.
Otherwise, try to keep it near a wall and hope room gain is enough to help you.Lovin that music year after year.
Main 2 Channel System
Polk SDA-1B,
Promitheus Audio TVC SE,
Rotel RB-980BX,
OPPO DV-970HD,

Computer Rig
Polk SDA CRS+,
Creek Audio 5350 SE,
Morrow Audio MA1 Interconnect,

I'd get one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sunfire-powered-true-subwoofer-mk-IV_W0QQitemZ270089241204QQihZ017QQcategoryZ3275QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I have one and it's amazing, best upgrade you can ever do to get the bass you need. they usually go for around $700

WOOOOW... That's a killer! lol... -
I am sure you know this but furniture, drapes etc... affect acoustics. I use a pink noise generator for speaker placement myself to determine the best placement
