Only 23 days to go until you beat the odds,,,I'll bet that you are experiencing some minor symptoms now,, don't worry,,it'll get worse as the days go by :):D:D
    '

Yep, you're right. Just wondering if a more powerful amp would exert more control of the four 12" woofers and two 12" passive radiators.:p

Hadn't bought anything yet. Geez, give a brotha a break. Is it cheating on your diet if you crave cheesecake, but don't take a bite?

Perhaps you could try a pair of these bridged mono. Not trying to tempt you or break your resolve here lmaaaaoooooo.:D :p:D REGARDS SNOW
Well, I just pulled off the impossible by doing a double-blind comparison all by myself, purely by virtue of the fact that I completely and stupidly forgot what I did last. I guess that getting old does have its advantages after all :D

But if you have already acheived Nirvana, you shouldn't even be having any cravings! You should be sitting in front of your Nirvana system in a trance of Nirvanahood!:p :D

So get the hell out of here & go enjoy your system!:p ;):D

Don't fool yourself; there is always something better out there, we all know that...and the problem is that no matter how satisfied we are with our systems; we are always willing to take that one more step. The problem is that it comes a point where a little step normally represents a lot of money....ain't it fun????

    You're right. Here's a totally unrelated scenario --

A junkie gets really high on some good **** one day. He gets as high as he's ever been, and he wants the whole world to know it. Later on, he starts to go through serious withdrawal symptoms. No one expects a junkie to quit cold turkey. There will be a few unsuccessful attempts to get clean, but hopefully the junkie will prevail. It helps, though, for a junkie to get encouragement from his peers, but if he continues to hang around with the wrong crowd, the outcome is highly predictable.;)

Take a look at definition 2b. When it comes to audio, I agree.

    Unfortunately..............:(

    Hence the disease.

Yeah, definition 2b. That's what I meant all along [slowly back peddles...].

What I really meant about "nirvana" was the sound, not the gear. Re-read the original post in this thread. The first sentence alludes to not quite being finished with my gear. Just got one more minor "upgrade" to do, then I'm done. Seriously.;)

Joe, I got a visual on that picture. I can just see Phyllisann standing there with the tape recorder going & you pleading your case. I'm still chuckling over that one. PS.. you have an email

Now, Early... You mean to tell me that the fat lady isn't done singing yet? Not to worry, I think we've all been in your situation where we are totally satisfied with our system. But the swapping of gear seems to never end. As long as you keep the musical quality intact to where you feel you've reached nirvana then it is a real pleasure listening to new gear. Hell that's where all the fun lies.:D

I'm still swimming in the sea of Audio Nirvana.

I made a minor system change recently -- went from a Marsh A200 (120 wpc) to its bigger brother, the A400 (200 wpc). Subtle differences are more detail, a bit fuller, greater clarity, more realism, blah, blah, blah...I'm luvin' it. However, I expected a lot more bass, but didn't get it. I'm OK with that, though.

Bass shouldn't be an issue with your mains. You've added more power, more headroom - but I bet damping factor and slew rate are 'in the zone'.

    Time to Ronco that ****.

    Cheers,

Yeah, I didn' think bass would be an issue, either. I put an Odyssey Stratos on the system a couple of weeks ago and the bass was phenomenal.

By the way, Russ, what does it mean to "Ronco that ****?"
